In the afternoon of 8 August 2014 an Al Shabaab suicide car bomb (Vehicle Borne IED) targeted an AMISOM convoy at Lafole 25 Ks outside of Mogadishu, Somalia. The detonation had limited impact on the Armoured Personnel Carrier but completely obliterated two mini-busses killing 12 civilians and injuring 30+ others. The blatant disregard for civilian casualties borne out of a fundamentally misguided conviction is despicable beyond words!
