Copenhagen Shootings – The Aftermath
On 14 February 2015 a lone gunman opened fire and killed a civilian and wounded three police officers at Cafe Krudttønden hosting a free speech event with Swedish cartoonist, Lars Vilks killing. Later the same night the gunman killed a security guard at the Jewish Synagogue in Krystalgade and wounded another two police officers. A major man hunt was undertaken, and the lone gunman was eventually tracked down and killed in a shootout with the police at around 0500 in the morning of 15 February. The following pictures are from the Jewish Synagogue in Krystalgade later the same morning and the commemoration on 16 February of the killed and wounded next to Cafe Krudttønden with around 30,000 people participating.
